About John
Raised in a family deeply connected to the ocean and yachting, I spent my formative years racing sailboats until my teen years. My connection with boats and water dates back to the late 70s, when I participated in the production of commercials for both Irwin Yachts and Morgan Yachts, these were great memories. I also spent time in custom home construction and learned a great deal, but longed to return to the water. In 2005, I relocated to South Florida, where I became part of the maritime industry once again. I have many happy memories of working in Fort Lauderdale, one of which was working on a huge yacht refitting project that took four years to complete. Mark Rose-Innes and I began our journey by establishing Lauderdale Marine Services, together we have grown our custom yacht services business over the years.
About Mark
Born and raised in South Africa, I spent most of my weekends as a kid on the water racing Thunder Cats. In '97, I earned my stripes as a scuba instructor and master scuba diver trainer. That same year also marked my first job on a yacht, which was a great base for my yachting career, learning from the ground up. I spent 12 years cruising the Mediterranean, then 16 years working on yachts in the U.S. and Caribbean. In '03 I earned my masters ticket, and then spent well over a decade captaining yachts in the US. When John and I teamed up to originate Lauderdale Marine Services, we wanted to create a unique custom yacht services business in Fort Lauderdale, we are very proud of LMS and the journeys we have taken to get to this point, together we have over 60 years experience in this industry.
